This is a question that pops by every now and then on the E-groups, pardon GoogleGroups, E-Prime mailinglist. How do you communicate with an EEG amplifier or other such equipment? In this short tutorial, I will explain how to use Task Events to send triggers via the parallel port. I will expect you to have at least E-Prime 184.108.40.206 and an EEG amplifier that is connected via the parallel port (this includes BrainProducts and BioSemi equipment).
This course was designed for my optional course at the Psychology Department of Liverpool Hope University (UK). Students learn the basics of EEG/ERP (brainwave) theory and data analysis with a goal to ‘read the mind of the subject and be able to tell who they are thinking of’. We study memory, language, impulse control, the hippocampus, Wernicke’s area, and the anterior cingulate cortex.
